As July dawns upon the ICT Academy of Kerala, the echoes of success and innovation from the previous month continue to resonate, setting the stage for another inspiring chapter. With enthusiasm in the air and a passion for growth, July promises to be a month filled with captivating moments and new milestones. As the summer sun shines brightly, the academy gears up to host an array of captivating events and initiatives that will further fuel the flames of progress. July kicks off with renewed vigor, bringing together renowned experts and industry leaders for insightful bootcamps and job fairs. Job seekers and recruiters alike eagerly await this grand platform, where talented individuals find their dream careers and organizations discover exceptional talents to join their ranks.

YIP Innovators Meet and Immersion Program: A triumph!

Under the leadership of Dr. Manoj A.S., the YIP Innovators Meet and the Immersion Program concluded commendably and proved to be a resounding success. Over 2000 attendees participated in the meet, while more than 400 students actively engaged in the Immersion Training Program, covering topics like Design Thinking, IPR, Business Plan, and Enterprise Canvas, IR 4.0 skills, Business Enterprise Creation, and Research Methodology. 

Additionally, Mr. Gopinath R., Ms. Priya A., and Mr. Vinod R. provided valuable and timely support throughout the event, contributing to its smooth execution. Mr. Sabari Krishna’s relentless efforts in ensuring tasks were commendable and greatly appreciated. 

Mr. Deepu N. Nair and Ms. Fathima R. Rasheed from the YIP team were acknowledged for their exceptional support, alongside the PCT team, led by Mr. Sinjith S., who delivered impeccable work. Also, thanks to Mr. Riji N. Das and the external team for their valuable contributions. 

July Job Fests: Connecting talent with opportunities

In July, several job fairs took place in different venues of Bison Valley, Sultan Bathery, Perumpadappu, and Kollam, creating promising avenues for job seekers and employers. These events witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 235 candidates registering at Bison Valley, 459 at Sultan Bathery, 542 at Perumpadappu, and 576 at Kollam.

A total of 18 companies participated in the Bison Valley Job Fest, conducting 649 interviews, shortlisting 338 candidates, and ultimately hiring 39 individuals. Similarly, at Sultan Bathery, 42 companies engaged in 1213 interviews, shortlisting 702 candidates and making 149 successful hires.

The Micro Plan Perumpadappu Job Fest saw 45 companies engaging in 1381 interviews, resulting in 608 shortlisted candidates and 163 hired. Kollam’s Job Fair featured 60 companies conducting 1258 interviews, shortlisting 533 candidates, and 185 hired.

These job fairs have proven invaluable in connecting talent with opportunities, contributing to economic growth, and empowering job seekers to pursue their dreams. The success of these events highlights the significance of such platforms in shaping individuals’ careers and driving progress in our communities. Empowering education and skills

In recent developments, the Knowledge Office initiative has been instrumental in fostering growth and learning across diverse institutions. The ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) successfully organized a series of impactful programs and workshops at various educational institutions, leaving a lasting impression on the participants. The orientation programs held at GEC Barton Hill (Thiruvananthapuram), SN College (Kollam), Providence School of Business (Alappuzha), and MES Mampad College (Malappuram) led by esteemed members of the ICTAK team, who shared their knowledge and expertise with enthusiasm.

At GEC Barton Hill, Ms. Meera Mathew (Knowledge Officer) and Dr. Deepa V.T. (Regional Manager, Academic OU) guided the orientation. SN College Kollam’s session was conducted by Mr. Riji (Head, Knowledge Office) and Mr. Ageesh A. (Project Coordinator, Academic OU). Providence School of Business hosted by Mr. Bibin Bhanujan (Training Lead) and Mr. Ageesh as facilitators. The insightful workshop on ‘ChatGPT in Academia’ at MES Mampad College was conducted by Mr. Gopu Darsan (Knowledge Officer), engaging the participants with valuable insights.

Additionally, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences witnessed an enlightening Advanced Excel program, where a team of experts, including Mr. John P. Padmadan, Mr. Sreejith Jayachandran, Ms. Tiya Reba Stephen, and Ms. Maya Mohan (all Knowledge Officers), imparted their expertise to the eager students.

The academy’s dedication to fostering growth and skill development was evident in various batches focusing on Employability Skill Training, Data Science and Analytics, Full Stack Development (MERN), Software Testing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security Analyst. Experienced facilitators and Knowledge Officers skillfully led these sessions, ensuring a holistic learning experience.

The success of these programs was a testament to the commitment and passion of the ICTAK team, as they equipped the participants with valuable skills and knowledge relevant to the ever-evolving technological landscape. 

Embracing a journey of growth

More than 200 institutions from all the fourteen districts of Kerala have been selected as member institutions of the ICT Academy of Kerala for the current academic year under the Academic Membership Program, bringing a wealth of promising opportunities. The program has seen an overwhelming response, with more than two hundred institutions from fourteen districts eagerly joining the initiative.

These selected institutions are all set to embark on their journey with Regular Membership, granting them access to a vibrant community, invaluable resources, and exciting networking opportunities. But that’s not all! After actively engaging in the program for one year, they will qualify for the esteemed Premium Membership, unlocking a new level of exclusive benefits and opportunities.

At the ICT Academy of Kerala, there is a deep commitment to supporting the growth and success of these institutions at every stage.

Fostering tech-savvy minds

The ICT Academy of Kerala organized impactful training programs at various educational institutions led by skilled trainers. At Nirmala College Chalakudy, 50 students participated in the FSD (Full Stack Development) course guided by trainer Ms. Tiya from within the institution. Meanwhile, at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, an Advanced Excel training program in four batches engaged 47 students each, mentored by ICTAK trainers – Mr. John J. Padamadan, Ms. Maya Mohan, Mr. Sreejith, and Ms. Tiya. Additionally, Sahrdaya College hosted an enriching RPA (Robotic Process Automation) internship, attended by 35 dedicated students, expertly guided by internal trainer Mr. Gopu Darsan. Through these initiatives, the academy empowers students with valuable skills, fostering a tech-savvy generation ready to embrace future challenges in the field of technology.

A July of tech workshops

The retail unit of the ICT Academy of Kerala witnessed an exciting array of updates and hands-on workshops, offering participants valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies. The month of July kicked off with ‘CSA: Securing the Future,’ a Cyber Security workshop held at the headquarters in Trivandrum on the 1st of July. Trainer Mr. Surej from ActivBytes led the session, empowering attendees with practical knowledge and skills in the realm of cybersecurity.

Following closely was the ‘DSA: Data Science and Analytics’ workshop in Kochi on the same day. Participants explored the power of data under the guidance of trainer Mr. Abhimanyu K.S. from Quest Global, with support from Mr. Sreejith (KO).

The Retail division further ventured into the virtual realm with the ‘RPA: Ui Path’workshop on the 8th of July. The UiPath team, led by trainer Mr. Ashwin Bhaskar, delved into the realm of Robotic Process Automation, offering valuable insights and expertise.

On the 15th of July, two captivating workshops were held at the headquarters in Trivandrum and Kochi. ‘FSD: Building Dynamic Web Applications using React’ was led by trainer Mr. Ken Kurian, with support from Ms. Tiya Reba (KO). Meanwhile, in Kochi, ‘ST: Mastering the Art of Software Testing’ brought participants into the world of software testing with trainer Subin and support from Mr. Necer Ashraf (KO).

Lastly, the month concluded with a remarkable ‘ML/AI: Accelerating Innovation’ workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Thiruvananthapuram. Trainer Mr. Sandeep M.A. took participants on a transformative journey into AI, backed by support from Ms. Anitha Bipin.

These workshops showcased the dedication of the Retail division to providing hands-on experiences and fostering a skilled workforce equipped to excel in the ever-evolving tech landscape. The ICT Academy of Kerala continues to pave the way for innovation and growth, empowering individuals to embrace the future with confidence.
