Kerala Development & Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) and the ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) signed separate MoUs with LinkedIn, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and World Malayalee Council (WMC) as part of the ‘Connect Career to Campus’ (CCC) campaign under the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM) initiative. The CCC campaign aims to spread the idea ‘Right Job@Right Time’ by making awareness about the industry 4.0 jobs, change in global job markets, the need for skilling, encouraging and guiding the students in finding the proper career along with their studies. It also intends to reach out to all institutions introducing suitable career prospects through the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS) platform.

Employability skill development with LinkedIn

This partnership with LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network on the Internet, mainly aims to work together for the employability skill development of the youth in the state and job aggregation using LinkedIn tools and platforms. Different platforms such as LinkedIn Learning to support talent development and LinkedIn Insights to help understand the job trends and market conditions, will be made available as part of the agreement. Additionally, LinkedIn Jobs will provide career opportunities for eligible youths and products or services to engage in specific projects, thereby helping the younger generation in the state.

Creating more job opportunities

The MoU with World Malayalee Council, which works towards an international brotherhood of Malayalees / people of Kerala origin, assures the job openings in the companies owned and operated by WMC members get routed to the DWMS. In addition, WMC will also onboard their employers on the DWMS platform. In this coordinated activity, ICTAK will post the jobs mobilized by WMC onto the job fair platform after its authentication procedures. In addition to this, ICT Academy will help WMC employers in the recruitment processes also.

Reaching out to candidates

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, will constitute the PMU team of an industry-led facilitation cell to engage in industry reach-out activities and job mapping. On behalf of mobilization activities, roadshows will be conducted in the main industrial areas across the state and abroad. To reach out for employment opportunities to maximum youth and job seekers across the state it will provide placement drives and job fairs coordinating with the ICT Academy of Kerala, and exclusively support job upload on GoK Job Portal.
