The Academic Operations Unit of the ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) conducted a series of training programs in the last week of June and the opening week of July. The training programs were on Full Stack Development (FSD), IoT Application Development, and Machine Learning & Artificial intelligence (ML/AI). In addition, a Faculty Development Program was also organized during the period.

The first in the lot was a six-day (36 Hrs.) workshop on FSD on the 24th of July at Christ Nagar College, T’puram. Mr. Aneesh S. Nair (CEO, Logix Space Technologies) led the sessions with 56 participants. It’s a technology training program facilitated by Govt. of Kerala and has high industry relevance. Through the program, students get the certification to apply for different job roles in many technologies and business organizations using these technologies.

Modern technology trends

The workshop on IoT application development started on 30th June at Younus College, Kollam. Mr. Abraham Alexander (Empanelled Trainer) handled the sessions in the three-day workshop (18 Hrs.) in two batches,  with 31 participants in the first and 40 in the second. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices and systems connected to the Internet and communicating with one another. It is the future where everyday objects get linked to the Internet and used for numerous purposes. IoT will be significant in many industries, including transportation, energy, health, and manufacturing.

Dept. of Statistics, University of Kerala, Kariavattom Campus, hosted the ML/AI training program on 2nd July. The five-day (30 Hrs.) workshop had Mr. Ummer Shaik (Empanelled Trainer) as the resource person. The participant count exceeded fifty. The future of machine learning is artificial intelligence, where machines will extract knowledge from data, make decisions, and figure out how to solve new problems. It will be a far leap forward compared to the present-day applications. This program provides the learners with a firm awareness of ML/AI technologies and their applications, covering the basic concepts, tools, and techniques of ML/AI.

Program for faculties

While the above programs had students as participants, ICTAK organized one for faculties. The two-day Faculty Development Program on Concept Coaching is an intense and challenging learning experience designed to take your teaching skills to the next level. The course is developed after thorough research and brainstorming by academics and industry.

Through interactive sessions and activities, the course covers various topics related to new educational approaches and core methodologies for high-impact teaching.The program follows an experiential learning approach, combining theory and dialogue with practice and experiment. 

The FDP on Concept Coaching at Govt. ITI Campus, Kozhikode, was for two days, starting on the 1st of July. The sessions managed by Dr. Manoj A.S. and Mr. Nidhin Das from ICTAK had a participant count of over sixty.
