ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) is organising a series of webinars as a part of the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM). KKEM is a flagship project of the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC). It is an initiative that aims to employ the educated by transforming the State of Kerala into a Knowledge Society, which will produce, consume and transact knowledge for its own social and economic development. KKEM targets to provide gainful employment to 20 lakh people over five years in various sectors and job verticals. To upskill the youth with industry-relevant topics the Retail Operations Unit of ICTAK is conducting these webinar events. The webinar series started on 2022 May 28 and has completed two sessions.
Talks this week
Mr. Amal Babu (Sr. Sol. Architect, Intelligent Automation 10xDS – Exponential Digital Solutions) and Mr. Dhanith Krishna (Manager-Pentest & RT Lead, EY Global) will speak on the Trends and Opportunities in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Cyber Security Domain respectively. The KKEM webinar series is a great way to learn more about these exciting technologies. The webinar on RPA will discuss everything from managing risks to improving customer service while using RPA tools. Whereas the webinar on Cyber Security Domain will cover the basics of cyber security operations. The two sessions are scheduled on 2022 June 18.

Mr. Viepul Kocher (Co-Founder & CEO, Verity Software & President of the Indian Testing, ISTQB Board) was the first speaker. He discussed the topic, Trends and Opportunities in Software Testing. The webinar highlighted the importance of testing and automation. The session also discussed future trends like the use of artificial intelligence in software testing.
The second speaker was Ms. Meera Menon (Junior Technical Architect, Wimoku Pvt. Ltd.). She talked about the Trends and Opportunities in Full Stack Development. The discussion focused on dealing with the impact of digital technologies in filling the career gaps of the youths of Kerala, the change in career prospects of the students and the prevailing market leverage of job opportunities

Retail Operations
The Retail Business and Operation Unit (ROU) is a front-end training wing of ICTAK to accompany the mission of skilling the youths of Kerala in IR4.0 technologies to make the state a desired talent pool for the industries. The unit empowers the effort to build a job-ready workforce for the IT Industry by researching, organizing and executing skill development programs for the unemployed and underemployed graduates. The focus is on skilling, upskilling and reskilling with affordable fees and supporting them to realize their career dreams.
The Retail Training division owns and manages various projects in association with our public and private partners mainly targeted to the upskilling of graduated youth. The OU maintains partnerships for mobilizing the candidates in need of assistance for entry into the IT Industry. The unit can aid students with proper technical guidance for optimizing their choices in career selection and facilitate internships and employment.
