From machine learning boot camps to success stories of aspiring tech professionals, from welcoming a new CEO to forging partnerships for veterans’ rehabilitation, It was a month packed with accomplishments and aspirations. A visionary leader  

In an exciting development for the ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) Mr. Muraleedharan Manningal has assumed the role of CEO, ushering in a new era of innovation and progress. With a rich background in technology leadership, Mr. Manningal brings a fresh perspective and a commitment to inclusivity and excellence. As ICTAK continues to empower individuals, foster industry connections, and advance the IT sector, this transition promises a future filled with promise and growth.

Empowering Veterans

In a remarkable step forward, the Department of Sainik Welfare Kerala and the ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) have united in a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership is dedicated to the rehabilitation and empowerment of veterans and their dependents. ICTAK will provide digital skills training to veterans to ease their transition into civilian life and ensure sustainable livelihoods.

The historic document was signed by the representatives, with Mr. Vinod Mathew (Director of the Department of Sainik Welfare Kerala) and Mr. Santhosh Kurup (Former CEO of ICTAK) leading the way for their respective organisations. Their commitment to this initiative was evident with the presence of Mr. R. Gopinathan Nair (Head of Finance & Admin at ICTAK) Mr. Amal Vijay (Senior Manager – Government Relations at ICTAK) and Mr. Rajesh (CA to the Director of DSW).

Guests of Distinction

Excitement filled the air at the ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) headquarters as a distinguished group of guests arrived. These visitors, whose achievements span various fields, brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Dr. Santhosh Babu (IAS Retd., Managing Director of KSITIL) Mr. Sreekumar V. (Centre Head at Tata Elxsi) Mr. Sivakumar S.K. (CEO of Triassic Solutions Pvt. Ltd). and Mr. Suraj A. (Project Engineer (Electrical) at KSITIL) graced our premises. Later, the presence of Mr. Dinesh P. Thampi (Vice President & Delivery Centre Head – Kerala, TCS)  added another layer of distinction to the occasion.

Spearheading Excellence and Collaboration

The Corporate Operating Unit at ICTAK, led by Mr. Thomas Joseph, has made significant strides in the tech industry, exemplifying a dedication to excellence and fostering partnerships that drive innovation. Mr. Thomas Joseph, the visionary leader of ICTAK’s Corporate Operating Unit,  hosted a thought-provoking session at  ‘Meet the Startup 360 Expert’ on 31st October at KSUM Cyberpark Kozhikode Discovering new insights and gaining perspectives to help navigate towards a technology-driven future.

The unit’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has found a promising partner in Fedserv Ltd. This partnership proposal aims to make a genuine impact on students.

ICTAK’s Corporate Operating Unit has been at the forefront of driving employment opportunities. Through partnerships with UST, three job fairs were organised for different roles. Content Editor, Testing Role, and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. Nearly 8 out of 3000 applications have been selected, while the rest are still under review.

Empowering the Future

In the rapidly advancing world of technology, it is crucial to stay ahead of the curve. The Retail Operating Unit is proving its excellence in doing so. On October 7, the Retail Operating Unit initiated a Cyber Security Analyst Boot Camp for the July Batch led by the knowledgeable trainer Mr. Hareesh Rajendran (Senior Knowledge Officer ICTAK). The boot camp saw active participation from 10 enthusiastic learners. In a world of increasing cyber threats, this program provides participants with the skills and knowledge to defend against digital vulnerabilities. 

In addition,  The Retail Operating Unit offers Microskill Programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners. The registrations for these programs closed with a total of  200 plus entries. The substantial number of registrations reflects the unit’s commitment to providing industry-relevant learning opportunities.

ICTAK’s Dive into Technology Realms

ICTAK  recently hosted a series of training sessions, Students are being provided with an opportunity to explore the world of technology. The training session on R programming was spearheaded by the seasoned trainer Mr. Riji N. Das (Head – Knowledge Office), at Mar Ivanios College Trivandrum saw enthusiastic participation from 29 eager minds. Google Partner Program’s TECHLAB drew 1810 participants, bridging academia and industry for students to explore Google’s ecosystem.  Ms. Anitha B. (Associate Knowledge Officer) successfully conducted another enlightening training program at Mar Ivanios College Trivandrum on Power BI From September 8th to October 4th, with 27 participants. 

In healthcare, integrating technology is essential, not just a trend. As we move towards a future where data-driven decisions and digital solutions play a pivotal role in patient care, The ICTAK, in association with Malabar Cancer Centre, has taken a pioneering step towards fostering expertise in Health Information Technology. They have introduced a comprehensive course led by renowned trainers Mr. Riji N. Das (Head Knowledge Officer) and Mr. John J. Padamadan (Asst. Knowledge Officer). This program is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the evolving intersection of healthcare and technology, providing advanced knowledge in  Health Information Technology.

In October, the ICT Academy of Kerala (ICTAK) witnessed a transformative period with the appointment of Mr. Muraleedharan Manningal as CEO, symbolising a commitment to excellence.
