As June faded away, the ICT Academy of Kerala fondly recalls a month of energetic experiences and remarkable endeavours. From bustling job fairs that bridged the gap between talent and opportunities to engaging meetups that fostered connections and collaboration, June was a tapestry of triumphs and opportunities. As we bid farewell to June, let us embark on a journey through these captivating moments that have left an indelible mark on the ICT Academy of Kerala.
Job fairs: Discovering talents
The ICT Academy of Kerala took the initiative to organise a series of highly successful job fairs in June. These job fairs aimed to bridge the gap between talent and opportunities by providing a platform for job seekers to connect with prospective employers. The job fairs held across different regions of Kerala saw impressive attendance, with a total of 1,419 individuals actively taking part in the events.
The ‘Ente Thozhil’ job fair, organised by the Kerala University Placement Cell and Kazhakkoottam MLA, Mr. Kadakampally Surendran, in collaboration with the ICT Academy of Kerala and Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, proved to be a resounding success with over 1200 participants. The fair served as a platform for more than 125 candidates to fulfill their dreams, while 874 candidates were shortlisted for further consideration as the event concluded on the evening of June 27th. The event, held at the Kariavattom Campus, University of Kerala, attracted over 35 prominent IT and non-IT companies from the capital district. The event’s successful execution owes much to the collaborative efforts of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Technopark, T’puram, and Prathidhwani, the Technopark employees association. Another job fair conducted at Mangalam College of Engineering on June 03 was also there with over 120 participants.
Resounding endeavours
The Academic Operational Unit of ICTAK conducted various physical sessions in June. The Python internships conducted for three different batches at Naipunnya Institute of Management and Information Technology, Thrissur drew significant attention among students. The program witnessed an average participation of 40 candidates per batch.
Long-term training covering Cyber Security, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and Full-Stack development with React was organised at Nirmala College, Chalakudy, attracting a total of 131 actively engaged students.
The Digital Marketing Workshop at Nirmala College, Chalakudy achieved great success, as evidenced by the enthusiastic participation of 83 students across two batches. The Digital Marketing session at Christ Nagar College, Maranalloor, saw the active participation of 133 students.
An expert session was conducted at the Department of Statistics, University of Kerala, Kariavattom on the topic ‘Digital tools for researchers’. This session was attended by a total of 40 students.
These in-person sessions facilitate the development of personal connections, hands-on learning, expert guidance, and networking opportunities, making them invaluable assets in technical skill training.
Triumphant gatherings
The month of June was packed with significant meetups.
The Corporate Meetup held at Indeevaram Auditorium, Infopark, Koratty on 20th June provided an excellent platform for leading IT Parks Companies to connect with each other and explore potential areas of collaboration. During the meetup, Mr. Santhosh Kurup, CEO of ICTAK, interacted with various companies and discussed the prospects. The event witnessed the participation of 17 representatives from 12 Companies.
The Startup Meet hosted at Kerala Startup Mission, Palakkad on 22nd June served as a catalyst for fostering connections with startups, exploring potential areas of collaboration and extending support for their digital skills requirements. The meetup provided an incredible opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to engage directly with the CEO of ICTAK and discuss the prospects. The event witnessed the participation of 11 representatives from 7 startups.
The ICT Academy of Kerala joined hands with the IT Parks Liaison office to host an engaging Corporate Meetup on 2023 June 14. The event, held at the Yamuna Building of Technopark Phase 3, T’puram, provided an exceptional opportunity for connecting with IT Park companies. During the meetup, Mr. Santhosh Kurup, CEO of ICTAK, engaged with the attending companies and discussed various prospects for cooperation. Mr. Thomas Joseph, Head of Corporate Operations, was also present, contributing his insights and expertise to the discussions. With a strong emphasis on driving innovation and growth within the IT sector, this event presented an exciting platform for networking and discussions. The event witnessed the participation of 16 representatives from 13 prominent companies, including Nissan Digital India LLP, Allianz Technology Solutions, and Travancore Analytics (P) Ltd. During the discussion, Nissan Digital shared their positive feedback on the impact of fresher recruitment for their team.
These interactive discussions created platforms for fruitful exchanges of ideas and perspectives, nurturing an atmosphere of collaboration and fostering growth.
An unforgettable gettogether
The ICTAK Alumni Meet, which took place on 24th June, witnessed a grand gathering of the brightest minds who have passed through the ICT Academy of Kerala. The event was held at the ICTAK’s Headquarters at Thejaswini Building, Technopark, T’puram. It celebrated the remarkable achievements of ICTAK’s alumni and helped to forge new connections. During this occasion, the academy recognised exceptional individuals and presented them with mementoes as tokens of appreciation. Additionally, there were discussions about alumni opportunities, such as participating in expert talks and the exciting possibility of becoming an Empanelled Trainer at ICTAK.
Closing remarks
As we draw the curtain on this monthly blog, we contemplate the dynamic array of events and accomplishments that transpired within the ICT Academy of Kerala. The HR department at the ICT Academy of Kerala announced openings for the position of Creative Editor & Creative Associate in June, offering career opportunities for individuals with creative skills and qualifications to join the ICTAK Creatives and Marketing team. The Young Innovators Programme Idea Fest which was organised at the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) on 7th June, 2023 at Diamond Jubilee Hall, CET, saw the participation of over 1200 students. Additionally, the previous month witnessed increasing registrations for the Six-month Programs, which is progressing steadily. As we look ahead, we strongly believe that we have laid a solid path for continuing our incredible work in the future.
